Common misconceptions about Dr. Coldwell

You can't trust everything you read on the internet. Rumors, once sparked, don't just spread extremely quickly; they are also extremely difficult to contain. This also goes for what you'll read about Dr. Coldwell. I've lined up 5 common misconceptions that can easily be disproven:

I heard he's not a real Doctor!
He's a board certified and Accredited Naturopathic Medical Doctor (NMD)
You can see all his degrees on here: http://www.drleonardcoldwellbio.com/#!/c23ii

Some people have attacked him with the accusation that his degrees came from a diploma mill, but while the Louisiana Baptist University is unaccredited, it doesn't mean that it's a diploma mill.

http://www.lbu.edu
He has no proof of his 92.3% cure rate!
He changed his name, so there's something fishy about him!
Dr. Coldwell had an abusive father and didn't want to carry his name anymore.

He worked together with the convicted conman Kevin Trudeau in the scam called GIN!
Dr. Coldwell was used by Kevin Trudeau to lure more people into GIN. When Dr. Coldwell found out what a scam it was, he left and fought to bring this pyramid scheme down.

I heard he sexually abused women!
Dr. Coldwell was falsely accused of forcible fondling, however both women revoked their false accusations.

  1. LOL... nice try, Florian. This is totally lame. It’s all old stuff, but for the benefit of the one or two new readers you may have, here goes. Due to Blogger’s character limitation on comments I’ll do this in two parts.
    1. LBU’s lack of accreditation isn’t the point. Coldwell gives medical advice and says he is a physician. His degree from LBU is an HONORARY (means no coursework) “doctorate of humanities.” That has nothing to do with health care or cancer cures or any of the areas where he claims expertise. And his “medical credentials” ARE from what amount to diploma mills.
    2. A heavily redacted letter from Coldwell's long-time buddy AND BUSINESS PARTNER Thomas Hohn (also spelled Hoehn) is no "proof" of anything to anyone except the idiots who continue to believe Coldwell's exaggerated claims. Actual copies of the "studies" that both Tommy and Lenny have cited might be marginally more credible, but I sense that if such "studies" exist at all they were also produced by business interests of one or both men. Also, Coldwell has sent a lot of email correspondence out under Hohn's name, pretending to be Hohn. That one letter is no proof of anything except, perhaps, an utter LACK of real and credible proof.
    3. There is nothing intrinsically fishy about changing one's name; people do it all the time for various legitimate professional or personal reasons. In fact I made note of that on my first blog post about Coldwell in May 2012, "Bernd bridges." I even speculated that the paternal abuse (a story that I CAN believe) may have been a factor. Maybe he got the idea for that answer from my post, LOL. But he has actually told several different people several different stories about why he changed his name. He told one person that his original last name, "Klein," means “little” in German, which he thought wasn’t a very powerful name for a mighty motivational leader. He has also lost his temper at, or simply blocked, people who asked him about his name change. Taken alone, the name change would be... meh. But in context of his caginess about why he REALLY left Germany, and numerous other dodgy things about him, it's a valid point of discussion.

    1. 1. He doesn't use this Honorary degree for anything medical. There's a lot of people who use a honorary Ph.D tittle in their name, and it is perfectly legal.
      2. Maybe that study isn't released to protect the identities of the people involved in the study. But as long as Dr. C doesn't provide it I can't provide you more "proof"
      3. I can't provide you with those answers, only Dr. C can. However that has nothing to do with his ability to cure cancer and are only details you're questioning
      4. In this video (watch from 1:50) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQEkWa0IS04
Abe tells about how Dr. C gave him a microphone and put him on stage during one of his seminars to speak out on GIN. This means Dr. C was still in GIN and was exposing it from the inside out
      5. As far as I know Dr. C has not been convicted by a judge so far. He is innocent until proven guilty, the burden of proof is on these women
      6. The fact remains he has not been further prosecuted and remains an innocent man. Calling him a sexual abuser is defamation

I never said that using an honorary PhD was illegal, though in many states in the U.S. it is illegal (generally a misdemeanor) to use credentials from unaccredited schools in order to promote oneself or one's business. My point is that he uses all of his so-called degrees to give credence to his health/medical advice and information, and he has called himself a doctor and a physician many times. He has also allegedly used his standing as a "doctor" to take advantage of vulnerable people in various ways. Moreover he has claimed over the years to have anywhere between 4 and 8 PhDs. Yet the honorary PhD in Humanities, from an unaccredited religious institution, is the only PhD of which there is actually documented proof that I have seen.

You wrote: 2. Maybe that study isn't released to protect the identities of the people involved in the study. But as long as Dr. C doesn't provide it I can't provide you more "proof"

Maybe that study isn't released because it doesn't really exist. Patients' names and locations could easily be redacted, if the study really existed. And if it really did exist as a credible, independent study, he would have proudly shared it years ago when people first started questioning his qualifications and claims.

Coldwell has already demonstrated his unwillingness to provide honest answers to anything when questioned about his extravagant claims. Furthermore I KNOW for a fact that he lied about me and others. So when he has demonstrated himself to be a liar or at the very best a person who fudges facts and presents distorted or debunked information (much like his former b.f.f. Trudeau), it is only natural to question the veracity of his cancer cure claims. Only stupid people, naive people, desperate people, or willfully blind/ignorant people will take his cancer cure claims at face value. You do not strike me as stupid at all, and you don't seem desperate. You may possibly be naive but almost certainly are being willfully blind/ignorant. It seems clear to me that you have some stake in defending Coldwell -- maybe just stubborn pride at this point.

You have not been paying attention, Florian. I have been following the GIN/Coldwell saga closely for nearly three years now. Coldwell put Abe on the stage at Coldwell's POST-GIN event in Charleston SC in June of 2012. This was AFTER Coldwell had been fired from GIN and had started sputtering bitterly about it, sending out emails to one and all to join him in the quest for the "truth." It was mainly a ploy to get support and to build a list of gullibles. If you don't believe me about the timing, ask Abe; he'll tell you that the event took place AFTER Coldwell and GIN parted ways.

IOW, Coldwell didn't start "exposing" anything until he got his walking papers from Kevin. In fact, Coldwell was still semi-defending GIN on Facebook for nearly a month after Peter Wink was fired on or about April 27, 2012 (FYI: Abe had been grousing about GIN and the lies about the bonus programs for several months at that point). Coldwell even wrote on Facebook that he still had a ten-year contract with GIN, so he thought it would be best to stop all of the negative speculation and gossip about what might be going on. But shortly after that he was fired... and then he let loose with his "hero" shtick. You can read his Facebook posts from around that time and see how bitter and disappointed he was. But he did take advantage of the situation and used emotional appeals to get people on his side. Only people who have not been following the saga, or who are being willfully blind/ignorant, would believe Coldwell's version of how it all went down.

I have ALWAYS written that Coldwell was never charged, much less tried or convicted, on the matters covered in that 2007 Mt. Pleasant, SC police report. But the report remains a credible smoking gun, in my opinion, and some of the narratives are congruent with accounts I have heard from other sources about Coldwell's behavior. Also, I don't call him a sexual abuser. I've always been careful to say "alleged." In any case the alleged sexual abuse has never been the main focus of my posts about Coldwell. In fact I hadn't even HEARD of the police report when I first started writing about Coldwell.

On the other hand, his falsely accusing me of being an AIDS-infected former prostitute and a drug addict IS defamation, and not protected by the First Amendment. I realize that the First Amendment is irrelevant in your part of the world but Coldwell is a U.S. citizen and resident. Some of the things he has said about me are textbook examples of speech that is NOT protected by the First Amendment. And his falsely accusing me of killing his dog, while possibly being protected by the First Amendment, became a potentially criminal matter when he posted my private contact information in the context of inviting his rabid fans to "get in touch with me."

Coldwell is many things, but "an innocent man" is not one of them. And all you've done via your efforts here is to draw more attention to his dodginess, his wrongdoings, and his alleged wrongdoings. Maybe Big Pharma is paying YOU? :-)

  2. …Continued from previous comment, addressing points you made on this blog post:
    4. Both Coldwell and Trudeau have often bragged that they have been good friends for years. Coldwell may be stupid, but I find it hard to believe that he was totally isolated from readily available information about Trudeau's decades of scamming and criminal activity. Coldwell was eagerly lapping up $$ from Trudeau and GIN until he was FIRED in May 2012. He tried to spin it as a hero's tale of finding out to his dismay that GIN was a scam and Trudeau a scammer... but anyone with any rudimentary research and observational skills would be foolish to believe that. No doubt Trudeau kept a lot of things from Coldwell, as he did from all of his business associates, and Coldwell found out some things the hard way. But had he not been fired, he would have gone on singing GIN's praises for many more months -- at least until the receiver took over in August 2013, or perhaps even until the MLM was discontinued in November of that year.
    5. There were far more than two women whose allegations were recorded in the 2007 police report, which, again, you clearly have not read. It is utterly nauseating. The ONE woman who redacted was reportedly paid to do so. Others were reportedly intimidated and/or offered payment but so far no others have recanted. Also, the young woman who died shortly after her encounter with Coldwell was not one of the ones who filed a report. She did not commit suicide but was murdered.
    6. The solicitor, Scarlett A. Wilson, was also mentioned in the police report and it was mentioned that she said that she had no criminal charges against him. But that is irrelevant. It is well known that the police report did NOT result in any criminal charges against Coldwell, for various reasons best explained on Salty Droid's September 2012 blog post about Lenny's "Hands-on Healing." So Lenny taking the time to write to Ms. Wilson and get this letter back seems like a waste of time and effort. Also, I can see why he would redact his own address, but why Ms. Wilson's, when she is a public servant and the business addresses that were redacted can easily be found on the Internet? Is he really that afraid that someone will do some actual digging? After all, Ms. Wilson is keenly aware of the past allegations against Coldwell.

I suggest you get your nose out of Lenny's behind and try to get some fresh air. You'll be a better man for it.

  4. One point about Lenny's name change... I've always wondered why he chose "Leonard Coldwell." Why didn't he choose the surname of his late stepfather Lothar Anskohl? Lenny has often praised Lothar and said he considers him to be his real dad. Then he could have been a fake "Dr. A" instead of a fake "Dr. C," and maybe he could have used all sorts of branding gimmicks such as "A-List" and stuff like that.

Also, I wonder why Lenny's half brother Jens Wilhelm Anskohl hasn't legally changed his name to "Nicholas Coldwell." (Or "Nicolas Coldwell"... Lenny can't seem to make up his mind how to spell it.) Jens even has had business cards printed under his fake Coldwell name -- I know, because someone sent me a picture of one. And Lenny apparently introduces him as "Nicholas" or "Nicky" to people. But Lenny has also called him "Jens" in some of his earlier books, such as a 2010 edition of "The Only Answer to Cancer" that I own. Also, Jens is listed under his real name as one of the agents or managers on several of Lenny's businesses.

And since we are on the topic anyway, I'm also still trying to figure out how Lenny's mommy was able to give birth to Jens, when according to my sources Jens was born in 1970. Lenny was 12 that year. And he has said and written that when he was 12 years old, the doctors told Mommy she had a maximum of six months to live because of the liver cancer and cirrhosis and (in later versions of the story) the Hep C (as many people know, Hep C wasn't identified by medical science until 1989). Given Jens' birth date, presumably Mommy was married to Lothar Anskohl by then, which sort of throws Lenny's entire chronology out of whack, but he has never really been careful about details. But it seems to me that becoming pregnant and giving birth while you are fighting terminal cancer and cirrhosis and Hep C and unbearable pain would be more than anyone could survive.

    1. The name change stuff is something only Dr. C can answer, so far it's only speculation on your part.

Perhaps Nicholas is Jens Wilhelm Anskohl fourth name? Maybe it's just his nickname? You obsess about this little stuff way too much Connie.

Watch this video from 16:40 to 17:00 in which Dr. C says that he didn't know what hepatitis C was. This means he only discovered afterwards what disease she was suffering from
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofPXyOqf8c8

And yes, it is possible to give birth when you have cancer:

  5. "Dr." C will not answer any questions about his name change honestly. But as I said, that by itself would be of little import. It's everything else, taken in context, that makes the name change suspicious.

I "obsess" about this stuff because all of it is part of Coldwell's long time pattern of lies and deception. That is what journalists do. You do not obsess enough, IMO. You never question Coldwell's stories. Surely he's not paying you in money to be a fanboy; at most he may be "paying" you in praise, if he even knows your silly little blog exists. But maybe you'll eventually outgrow your need for that at some point.

I listened to that bit of b.s. from the IBMS recruitment video. But Coldwell has said on more than one occasion that his mother was *diagnosed* with Hep C 43 years ago. However, he never mentioned HepC or any hepatitis at all in his earlier stories, such as the one that appears in the 2008 version of "Instinct Based Medicine." The video you posted was produced in 2013, after numerous people had been pointing out the HepC discrepancy for many months. Clearly this is an attempt for Coldwell to cover his lies.

Of COURSE it is possible to give birth when one has cancer. But Coldwell has always told the story that his mother gave birth again AFTER he had cured her, not while she was suffering from several "terminal" and horribly painful diseases.

    Open your eyes, Florian.
